PETA Germany honors HUGO BOSS with “Vegan Fashion Award 2017“

Metzingen, September 25, 2017. HUGO BOSS has been chosen as the recipient of PETA Germany’s “Vegan Fashion Award 2017.” The Metzingen-based Group was selected for its “Merat” parka, which is part of the HUGO brand’s fall/winter collection. No animal materials whatsoever were used in its production. PETA has been awarding the prize annually since 2015 to recognize trendy, innovative and animal cruelty-free fashion.

For many years now, HUGO BOSS has been engaged in the protection of animals. This forms a central pillar of the Group’s commitment to product responsibility.
In line with this policy, HUGO BOSS refrains for example from the use of farmed fur, angora wool and live plucked down feathers.

In this context, the Group was only recently assessed best-in-class in the category Product Stewardship when it became a member of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) World. DJSI World is one of the best-known sustainability benchmarks. It encompasses the leading 10 percent of the 2,500 largest companies in the S&P Global Broad Market Index that demonstrate an above-average commitment to sustainability.

Within the framework of the 2017 Shareholders Meeting, HUGO BOSS had announced that a sustainable corporate strategy, the expansion of its sustainable product portfolio and the promotion of innovations in this field comprised key components of its strategic repositioning.
