HUGO BOSS launches first "responsible capsule collection" with a focus on more sustainable cotton

June 2018 - HUGO BOSS launches a BOSS Men’s Casualwear capsule collection out of jersey and denim styles designed with the environment in mind. Recycled and organic yarns, a reduced use of water and eco-friendly treatments all feature in the creation of this new limited collection. The products are available in selected BOSS stores worldwide and in the online store in Europe.

The collection consists of seven styles of the product groups jersey and denim. The four jersey styles were produced using recot² yarn, a blend of organic cotton and recycled cotton spun in Germany. According to the manufacturer, the use of recot² saves up to 5,000 litres of water per KG of recot² textiles compared to conventional cotton. Also the three denim styles support the cultivation of more sustainable cotton and contribute to a resource-saving production with a share of recycled yarns. In addition, all models are treated in an environmentally-friendly way during washing or dyeing.

In addition to these individual products, HUGO BOSS will increase the share of sustainably sourced cotton in its collections. By 2020, half of the cotton used by HUGO BOSS should come from sustainable sources. This share should rise to 80% by 2025. You can find more about our sustainable cotton sourcing strategy under Cotton Commitment.
