May 2020 - In its eighth Sustainability Report, HUGO BOSS looks back at important milestones in sustainability and provides an look at the goals the company has set itself in this area.
Our sustainability successes
Particularly in these turbulent times, it is clear that we must think and act sustainably together. Along with our partners, we have succeeded in achieving important milestones in 2020. In the area of product sustainability, these include our RESPONSIBLE Styles, which meet our sustainability requirements to a particularly high degree. They now account for 15% of our product range and include, for example, styles from a capsule collection with "Cotton made in Africa". Through our collaboration with this and other cotton programs such as the Better Cotton Initiative, we have already been able to increase the proportion of our cotton from more sustainable sources to 86%. We have also made decisive progress in climate protection: our ambitious targets for reducing CO2 emissions throughout our value chain were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative, with positive results.
Sustainability targets guide our actions
Our sustainability targets focus in particular on climate protection, the use of sustainable materials, compliance with social standards in the supply chain, responsible chemicals management and commitment to society. Key targets include:
- 100% of our cotton comes from more sustainable sources
- 100% of our goods come from suppliers who feature in one of the two best levels in social audits
- ≥ 51% reduction in CO2 emissions within our own scope of responsibility (Scope 1&2) by 2030 (compared to 2018)
- 30% reduction in CO2 emissions mainly from transport, production and raw material extraction (Scope 3) by 2030 (compared to 2018).
