Effective knowledge management is a powerful strategic tool

Given the impending structural problems facing eastern Europe’s clothing industry, we have been working with other major European companies – including some from other sectors – to preserve established and traditional apparel producers in this region.

A symbiotic relationship is at stake: production in the east draws heavily on outer fabrics and trimmings supplied by the west. Bolstering the eastern manufacturing networks thus ultimately secures futures in the west. And this, in turn, will help German fashion companies stay profitable.

We face an array of challenges which can only be mastered by identifying long-term trends. To make sure that we and our production partners stay on track, we need to project how conditions in the manufacturing countries will evolve over the next few years.

The more information we and our partners can exchange and share through personal contacts, the more effectively we can join forces for a strong future. For this reason we maintain close ties to international universities and comparable academic institutions.

HUGO BOSS partners with these bodies on various projects, including comprehensive market research and case studies. These then serve as valuable input in our decision-making, for instance when configuring the processes in our supply chain.
