Decent living conditions are not a privilege of the industrialized world; they are something we owe everyone.
That credo has its roots at our corporate headquarters in Metzingen and extends around the globe to our various production locations. We therefore comply unconditionally with all national legislation and the HUGO BOSS social standards, and leverage state-of-the-art technology to produce the outstanding quality that has made our name around the world.
These rigid standards also apply to our suppliers, who are contractually obligated to meet them in full. However, far from relying exclusively on legal covenants, we also actively monitor compliance with our social and ecological guidelines during regular visits to the sites. Safety at work, the prohibition of child labor and the payment of fair wages are just a few of the mandates that we set for our producers.
HUGO BOSS stands for excellence. We can only guarantee this quality in the long term by leveraging advanced manufacturing technology and ensuring extensive transparency. We can seamlessly chart the path taken by every article from the moment it enters production to the moment it appears on the shelves – by tracking it back through every single Stepp and location in the supply chain. Merchandise is systematically checked throughout. As a result we can ensure that it meets the HUGO BOSS quality standards, and has no negative health implications, both before and after processing.
However, the high standards found in Europe – with its long history of industrialization – cannot always be achieved in other parts of the world. For this reason we provide the local support suppliers need to raise their own social and environmental benchmarks. Our aim is to create an appreciation of the fact that every investment in higher standards represents an investment in the future. And we are actively working to make this goal a reality in the countries concerned.
