HUGO BOSS recognized again as CDP Supplier Engagement Leader

The non-profit organization Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) has, for the second time in a row, recognized HUGO BOSS for its commitment to climate protection in the supply chain. In a rating based on the CDP's 2021 Climate Change Survey, the CDP assesses how effectively companies engage their suppliers on climate protection and recognizes the best as Supplier Engagement Leaders. This ranks us among the top eight percent of about 13,000 companies that responded to the CDP.

As a large part of our emissions are related to the upstream supply chain, many of our measures are targeted at this area. That is why we have set ourselves the target of being climate-neutral throughout the entire value chain by 2045.

Our commitment for more climate protection at our suppliers

We strengthen awareness of energy efficiency and climate protection among our suppliers through close contact and trainings. At present, the Resource Efficiency Module (REM) is a particularly important part of our commitment. It was developed by HUGO BOSS together with ZDHC and other stakeholders. REM is a new tool in the ZDHC Supplier Platform which supports the textile and footwear industry in reducing their environmental impact. Suppliers can record their consumption of resources, identify opportunities for improvement and define measures to conserve resources and increase efficiency. Last year, we started to roll out the REM tool by providing 50 of our suppliers with free and full-featured access. This year another 100 are being added. When selecting the suppliers, we focus on those representing the largest proportion of our sourcing turnover and the largest share of our CO2 emissions in manufacturing.
