HUGO BOSS, along with around 50 other clothing brands and trade unions, has signed the Pakistan Accord/HUGO BOSS has signed the Pakistan Accord, jointly with 50 other clothing brands and trade unions. This underlines our deep and long-standing commitment to protecting the health and safety of garment workers.
The Pakistan Accord encompasses all the essential features of the International Accord, and for an initial three-year period, aims to enhance workplace and building safety by means through:
- Independent inspections
- Remediation
- An independent complaints mechanism
- Employee training programs.
HUGO BOSS and other signatories will provide funds to support the successful implementation of the Pakistan Accord. Our objective is to help uphold and improve occupational health and safety measures in Pakistan's garment and textile sector.
As a binding agreement among company and trade union signatories, the Pakistan Accord is an extension of Bangladesh's 2021 International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile and Garment Industry. The International Accord, which was signed by 190 brands, is, in-turn, based on the Bangladesh Accord on Fire and Building Safety. Established in 2013, the latter was a result of the dramatic tragedy of the Rana Plaza building collapse.
