We believe in equality for all.
Like so many of you, we are still deeply saddened by the recent events that have taken place in the USA. They again demonstrate that discrimination and inequality are still some of the biggest problems of our time.
We firmly believe that there is no place for racism, injustice or inequality, and we will continue to strive for a better society. But the last few months have shown us that we have to listen more carefully and reflect on our own behavior, that we have to learn and continuously take a clear stand. With these actions we can all contribute to a better society. We stand in solidarity with all those advocating for change – be it our employees, communities, customers or business partners. Their voices must be heard.
At HUGO BOSS we live and love diversity. Without our employees we wouldn’t be the company we are today. We are committed to offering all employees a non-discriminatory working environment where they are recognized for their individuality and are free to be themselves. We believe in equal opportunities for all, regardless of age, disability, origin or nationality, faith, gender or gender identity, or sexual orientation. This dedication was publicly emphasized when our company became a signatory of the Charter of Diversity in 2008.
But change starts with each one of us. In addition to complaint management, open communication about and awareness of discrimination are important tools for ensuring equal opportunities and diversity. At HUGO BOSS, we offer an environment in which all employees are recognized and respected for their individuality. While the topic of anti-discrimination is a regular part of our compliance training, we will also launch a special training program on the subject in 2020. It is intended to inform, educate and sensitize our employees.
There is still more we can do. In order to support the call for the equality of all, the Managing Board has decided to create the position of “Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion”. The newly created role, which has already been advertised internationally, will address all aspects of diversity in their full complexity and enable us to make further progress.
Additionally, a Diversity Task Force, with members of several departments, has been tasked with initiating and fostering an open discourse within the company.
HUGO BOSS continues to strive to be a positive force for change. We adhere to this as our guiding principle through our daily work, and seek inspiration and strength as we do what is needed to create a community that is truly welcoming to all.
